The Mountain

This lyrical dance piece, choreographed by Sue Collins, is titled "The Mountain". Collins took direct inspiration from a painting she had created. To best represent the art, each dancer represented a single force of the painting. Their choreography contained a mixture of precise and loose movements as the forces conflict and unite just as they do in the painting. To further portray the visual of each of them being a separate entity, I used the accurate colors of each element of the painting that correlates with each dancer’s role. These colors were died according to my own color formulas while using a tie dye method to maintain an organic texture.
