Cabaret
For my rendition of Cabaret, I focused on the practicality of the dancer's situations rather than the design opportunity to dress an opulent cabaret club. In reality, many of these dancers of the period would use the opportunity to perform at a risque cabaret as an escape from their lives on the outside. Therefore, I placed the cabaret actors and dancers in everyday undergarments of the 1940's. I use this subtly to suggest that after they're nine to five, each of them performs at the cabaret for their five to nine.
